I mean lets get down to it.... As we say in California "The Mexican Restraunt
closest to your house is always the best." I think there is some of this in the
responses so far. For me I have tried all the others except the plywood and
wood frame skin boats and just love the one I built. The 6.6 and 5.28 Dyson
specials. As for speed. I would say more to efficency. When you are in
trouble headed home into the wind efficency is the only thing that you will
really apreciate. I think the skin boats of origional design and built light
can't be matched for efficency. In addition, skin boats repair very simply and
the feel of a boat gently flexing or the rub and sound of the kelp below your
boat are very worthwhile as far as peaceful asthetics go. Also there is
nothing like time with someone or something to help build a "relationship'".
