Subject: DRB
Want to hear our latest adventures, if you haven't? I was talking to AB and DRB
on SUnday, reporting on the Oregonian's doubnle coverage of the great Brower.
Dad was explaining that he was a little subdued because he'd fainted earlier in
the day. Then DRB quit talking, and mom on the other extention cried, "Oh no,
David! No!" Other alarmed voices joined in, someone said to quick call 911, and
I was cut off. I called Ken and Bev and sent them running to help with
whateever it was. Turned out my pop had fainted and fallen into the fireplace,
busting his head on the fire iron. I talked to him this morning, all chipper
because he'd made Herb Caen. He likes his new pacemaker, which is supposed to
keep these little spells from coming upon him. Everybody rose to the crisis, old
mom breaking out of her fog, bobby coming through. It was pretty scarey there
for a while.
You'll be sorry you never made the little trip down here to see them, one of
these days.
