I beleive the Dyson article refered to is in a book put out by the Canadian
Ethnology Service, Mercury Series Paper 122, Canadian Museum of Civization
book, called "Contributions to Kayak Studies" edited by E. Y. Arima. This
book deals with studies more aimed at the kayaks rather than the physics of
propulsion.
If the is a paper on the physics of WW paddling the person who may know is
Bruce Lessels owner/instructor of Zoar Outdoor and Former member of the US WW
paddling team.
His address and phone number are; Zoar Outdoor, Mohawk Trail, Charlemont, MA
01339, (413) 339-4010.
