Does anyone know of resources on the Noatak kayaks similar to those
pictured in the Feb 1995 issue of Sea Kayaker magazine p. 26-27. Adney &
Chapelle's "Bark Canoes and Skin Boats..." only gives a very small blurb
with drawings for what they called the Kotzebue Sound kayak. Given the
close geographical proximity of Noatak and Kotzebue I'm sure they are the
same. Outside of these two resources I haven't been able to locate info.

Also, just conjecturing here but... do you think that such a low straight
prow as those on these kayaks might pierce a large wave and be forced down
by the downward curling wave action resulting in an impromtu sea kayaker's
version of the whiterwater "ender"?
