Subject: Hull hogging...
Kirk, technically, you're right, "hogging" refers to a
wooden hull in which the total structure is so weakened
(rot, running aground are 2 good catalysts) that the keel
has a reverse rocker...which, in turn, can lead to reverse
sheer...(the possibilities are endless...)
I've been using the term VERY loosely when referring to my
baidarka... As I read through this thread, I realized that
one of the issues is that I don't know whether the
flexibility I have is reasonable or not... I have nothing to
compare with other than glass hulls... It would sure be nice
to get two baidarkas together and compare...TLC
