I used brass rings (available from a store handling horse supplies, etc) and
sewed them to a patch of fabric for each ring. After painting a good
coating of hypalon on the now skinned kayak, I then used contact cement to
glue the patches to the skin and then proceeded to finish coating the rest
of the kayak with hypalon. This has worked well for me. I know the other
way is to sew aluminum tubing to the skin before hypalon.
