Dear John,
Yes I did use the rolled seam on the bifid bow as well as on the
rest of all of my skin boats. Yes, it was difficult to do, but I find that
that particular seam allows much greater control on the exact tension you
can apply for getting everything stretched just right, as you get two
different times to apply tension. Still, everything gets easier with
practice. BTW, I build wood-frame kayaks with canvas skins rather than
metal/nylon boats, so the rolled seam may or may not have relevance to your
particular application.
