Hi,
I appreciate all of the responses to my request regarding Baidarka vs Greenland
kayaks. I recently received and read Zimmerly's Qajaq as well. The Baidarka is
looking more appealing due to it's speed. I get the impresion that the Greenland
kayak handles better in tigh places and may be better for surfing.
I don't plan to do alot of surfing but will do more touring and "gunk holing". I
wonder how "badly" the baidarka handles (turns) compared to the average plastic
or glass kayak. Also could the Baidarka lines be modified to reduce the
freeboard making it sit lower to the water since I won't be carrying a boatload
of seals?
