I took my wife's bathroom scales out on the deck and weighed the
boatframe this weekend (yes, I know what you are thinking, but I
took out her fudge factor and reset the scales to zero to get an accurate
reading -- other wise the frame would have weighed 3 pounds.) After
multiple calculations and attempts, I consistently got a weight of 33
pounds (15kg) for the frame. I have yet to add the deck stringers,
coaming, and skin, so I reckon that'll tot up to another 5 or 7 pounds.
I'm kind of dissappointed with the weight, but OTOH I did use southern
yellow pine for the bulk of the frame and knew it was going to be about
20% heavier than other wood that I could have used. Still, I regularly
carry 85 and 90 pound boats, so this 40 pounds will seem pretty light.
