My only experiences with hemp as a cloth is that it was about (seemed)
six times as heavy as cotton. Have owned a hemp fabric backpack,
durable, lasted twelve years of heavy use, was stolen out of my garage
before it wore out...had some pants made of hemp - they felt like I was
wearing six pairs of pants - very heavy, never wore out either. (They
shrunk along with all of my other clothes as I moved through my
thirties.)

Don't know if all hemp fabric is that heavy but mine was...
