At this point the cost for the kayak building films will be about $15 U.S,
total, per person. Thats based on the response in 24 hours, so it will
probably go down further as more people express interest.

The down side is that it will take longer for the tapes to circulate with
more people, so I may decide to stop letting more people in on the deal
after a few more buy into it. That time may come pretty quick-I've had 2
more orders while I type this. For those people who miss out now, I will
make arrangement with you after everybody else has seen the tapes.

I need to make sure that everyone is aware of how this will work; I will
purchase the films, and then send them to someone on the list, who will then
send them to the next person, etc. Everybody will be responsible for paying
the postage to send to the next person.

The last person on the list will send the originals back to me. DER is very
clear on this-the tapes are covered by copyright. They are copyrighted, and
what you do with them when they pass through your hands is between you and
the FBI, but I need to get the originals back. If they werent, I could make
copies and send them to several people at once, and everyone could then view
them sooner. I cant do that. So basically I will be renting them to
everyone, but I am not profiting in any way, except I will own the
originals. I am also paying my equal share like everyone else.

DER told me that the price is so high because they do not usually sell to
individuals. They deal with large institutions, and many, many people then
have access to the tapes through the institution, so DER has to get their
money for all that usage up front. And they dont sell large numbers either.
By the way, some of you, especially in Canada, may be able to view these at
a local library or University, so you may want to look into that before
committing. Once you are committed, you're committed, and I have to divide
up the cost based on that. You have a few days to uncommit.

At this point not enough people are interested in the "Caribou crossing"
films to make it worthwhile to get them, but that could change over the next
few days. If any of you who have already responded but not expressed
interest in the caribou tapes specifically would like these too, let me
know. Otherwise I have you marked down only for the kayak building tapes.

To keep this from becoming too unwieldy and to keep everyones share of the
postage fair, I need to limit this to North America only. To the one
overseas person (Rickard) who has expressed interest already, I will include
you, but as you suggested, you will be last on the list. Nobody else has
specified they are overseas-so let me know if you've already replied and
arent in North America. These tapes will not be in PAL (European) format.

In a few days to a week I will post a summary, how much each person will owe
and my address. You have until then to "uncommit" if you find you can view
these tapes elsewhere. But like I said, I may need to refuse new committals
even sooner. Still need some more people for the caribou tapes though.
Please please please be specific in your replies-do you want all 4 tapes, or
just the 2 kayak building tapes. Thanks.
