I don't much like it either, mostly because of the
working time. I've only used it with small projects
so far, and something this large gave me pause. Thanks
for the suggestion on the alternatives.

That's great to hear. I've no desire to do the laminations
with epoxy, I don't really like the stuff. What little I've
used it for has made me wary of it, and the stuff I've read
in this newsgroup and others only reinforced that. Sure, it
has it's uses, but I'm not sure I care for the hazards if I
can avoid it.
