There were three of these boats at the wooden boat show in Hobart (Tasmania AUS.) and they are the funniest looking things you have ever seen. They had huge centre boards , huge bow sprits and enough sail to make a schooner happy. A friend has a photo of a 6ft one with 3 people sailing it. As soon as he can find it and I can access a scanner I will post it.
Question ! does any body out there use balsa wood for building their boats. I have just had a look at a rowing shell and a k1 and k2 kayak stip planked from 4mm. balsa with a light weight glass skin inside and out. This makes an amazingly strong shell which is still quite flexible. The rowing shell is 27 ft. long and weighs 8 kilograms.
