For all the paddle neophytes, what is a loom?
And for all the cultural anthropologists, could you explain if it's a
derivation of loon? It's representative of the bird's neck and was carved
as such becuase of the totemic significance of the loon in the Inuit
society. Functionality was only secondary in deciding the final shape.
