Gerald, thanks for the response,
It sounds like I am trying to design and build a boat that is very similar to
yours. Same size and number of sections.
Are you familiar with the book "Build the Aleutian Kayak" by Wolfgang
Brink? He is a very nice person who also runs a web site at:
http://www.mixweb.com/nativewater/
If you happen to visit the site soon you will see a notice of a privitive
boat rondevous that was on Aug 22 -24 this summer in Wisconson. My
friend Bob Zwick and I were able to attend (it was a 16 hr drive for me).
And was great fun.
Does you folder/skin system work in a manner similar to the
FEATHERCRAFT boats? That is a bow section and stern section
inserted through the cockpit hole in the skin and spread apart by the
center section?
I ask this because my design is for the frame to be assembled totaly first
and then slide into the bow section of the skin. The stern section of
the skin being open from the rear of the cockpit to the stern. After the
bow is inserted then the rear deck section folds over the frame and is
laced together (much like a shoe) to make everything tight. My design
does not include inflatable sponsons (although if I can't make things
tight enough I will try to fit them in).
BTW does your design incorperate sponsons?
