Hello Hendrik,

Your experience is very useful to all of us. This week I'll be off to
buy aluminum for my first foldable kayak. Since everybody on the
net, including Tom and commercial sites speak of T-6061 grade aluminum, I
thought I'd go that way... Then now I learn it corrodes...

What grade did you use for salt water uses? What wall thickness? I tried
bending a 20mm tube with 1.5mm wall thickness and it seemed VERY stiff
(Tom is that the thickness of your tubing ?) , perhaps too much and
heavy too. Isn't 1 mm or 12/10mm enough ?

Thanks for help, Stefano
