I do this. On all of the four previous kayaks I've built I sign my name
somewhere on the framework up away from the bilgwater and I put the hull
number. My next kayak I will put #5 next to my name. I do this only for my
own satisfaction. Now that I know the Coast Gaurd wants it I will just wait
until they want to come aboard for an Inspection. I'll invite them to go
below and see my number!
