F. Nansen's "Farthest North" - more about Arctic exploration but includes
the long, long trip over ice and water with the bamboo & sailcloth kayaks.
Also Nansen's book about Greenland -- the title of which I forget -- he was
the first to mush across Greenland. While there he learned to paddle
Greenland boats, and even brought a couple back to Norway.
