I can recall these three: beam = hips+2 fists width, length = 3 arm
spans (one inuit about 165 cm tall and 150 pounds weight in average).
Paddle = from feet to extended arm tip over the head , approx 7.5 - 8
ft.
I have tried the first(beam9 and latter (paddle) with success in my ply
kayak, length being a bit shorter.
However, to say the truth, i cannot recal the anthropological accuracy
of these quotations, and after seeing a few examples of kayak lines
taken from museums, I think they only apply mostly to greenlanders of 18
ft by 20-22 inches.
I am curious about more accurate quotations myself, Stefano
