I got the plans from Platt Monfort, who designs "geodesic airolight"
ultralight boats. It's a nice design - about 15 feet long, 27 inches
wide, quite deep(lots of gear-carrying capacity). His designs use
spruce for the frames, and ultralight 4-ounce heatshrink dacron for the
skins. I had to do some modifications as I went along, since I'm using
different materials(I also shortened the design a bit)...I used aluminum
tubing for the keel, gunwales and stringers, and used steambent oak for
the ribs. The sprayskirt coaming is steambent ash, and the deck beams
are laminated pine. I'm going to cover it with 11-ounce nylon I got
from George Dyson, then seal it with white hypalon. Hope this helps.
