Bill Brigden, of Winnipeg, is still alive and well, though he is getting on
in years. He was, and is, a significant figure in the local paddling
community. Early on he participated in and promoted paddling as a sport and
a recreation. There should be a biography written about the man, he is a
fine gentleman.

Victoria Jason and Don Starkell, both also of Winnipeg, are good friends
with Bill. In addition to making their paddles for their Arctic trips, he
made the canoe which Don and his son Dana used on their trip from Winnipeg
to the mouth of the Anazon, a continuous and unaided trip! 12,000 miles, 24
months...

If anyone would like to know more about Bill, there is a nice, though short,
biography on him on the website of the Manitoba Redreational Canoeing
Association. Follow the link from my web site at the address in the signature.

If contact information for him is not there, let me know and I could post
something.
