Not that I know, I was referring to sail and motor boats really. Perhaps
at kayak speed resistance difference is not so crucial although it still
increases geometrically.

It may be worth trying... Some other paints which are water based teflon
are also sold for the purpose. I dislike th idea of adding pollutants to
water in any form though, so I did not experiment it myself. My way on
sailing boats has been roughing the surface with 600 grit abrasive paper
until the hull when wetted retains a film of water on it instead of
repelling it.

I have no measurements or blanks to compare, but my feel was of higher
easiness of planing.
