Hello Stefano,
no waterproofing at all :)=) First, I sew on the skin in a
provisoric manner. Then again a bit better and with less
folds. After that, I go over it with the heat gun to stretch
the remaining wrinkles. At last, the skin ist glued together
with hendrix glue mixture.
For this process it is useful to place the sews where they
can easily be removed. I do them at the gunwhales, keel
and between the two stringers.
Last time I sewed the skin onto the frame inverted and
inverted it when I was ready. This definitely is an advantage
of folding kayaks :)))
This time I sew it on in the right way and invert the skin for
the finish. Finish means that I glue rub strips of PVC onto
the skin from the outside and reinforcing strips from the
inside. After finishing the skin, I invert it again and add
the end caps which further inhibit inverting the skin and
inserting the frame..
Cheers,
Hendrik
