Mass (weight) counts for alot in this, as does hull design, wider is not
necessarily more difficult to hip snap up.

The same is true in the US. Whitewater boats are about 10' long (3 meters)
and 24" (61cm) and 40 lbs (88 kilos). I find whitewater boats do roll a
bit
easier than sea kayaks.
