Thanks for all the info....
I'm a knifemaker these days so I don't have a lot of spare money for this sailing
project...which is why I chose the baidarka...
At the same time, it seems a light frame could be built to deminsions suitable to
a little lake sailer...say about 15 feet....and somewhat wider in beam than a
"standard" baidarka...., and then skinned with canvas....might have to fudge a
daggerboard...but it sounds like a fun project....and the technology used in the
baidarka is very appealing to me....
