It may not be relevant in this application, but when I've used these
tie-wraps outdoors, they become brittle over time. U.V. I guess; maybe
this is just the way nylon behaves. Also, when overstressed they fail
abruptly. But they come in a wide array of sizes, so you could probably
over-size it to be safe.

The tool permits exact tensioning and repeatability, which seems like a
really useful feature. The price of each tie runs about 5-cents, no
matter where you buy them or in what quantity.
