I have not tried these as floatation, but it might be worth testing.
I have used zip-lock bags to carry water. They also can be filled
with air and the lock is strong. I jumped on one filled with air and
the lock held, but the seam at the bottom split. I don't know the
volume of the large ones by they seem to hold a lot.
