Sorry for my weird comments. I wanted to say that
adding joints to a frame in order to make it foldable
in my screwed-up way is way similar to just welding
it properly. Regarding the fact that at these joints
the frame tends to become more rigid than desired.

Something else. I first built my frames with 6m
tubing, as a rigid single piece. Then I added the
folding joints to the frame. Only as a last step,
I cut through the longitudinals. I can still envision
the overall change of the frame's behaviour under
load. Amazing differences between these three
configurations.
