Dear Paul,
the Airship guys actually used Helium instead.
Their PVC skin was tight enough against large air
molecules, but as they found out, small
molecules made their way through it, from the
outside to the inside! Although having filled
the skin properly with helium, it became heavier
from day to day until the gas had to be replaced...
And helium was so awfully expensive :))
