Just decay resistance.

Red Mulberry -- umm, aside from its being mentioned as a framing and
sometimes planking wood from Colonial times in the Chesapeake in many
sources I've read:

1. Library
2. Card Catalog
3. USDA or Forestry Service reports on wood types.

<chuckle>

I don't really have any more information. Red Mulberry is related to Osage
Orange so this should come as no surprise. It even looks similar - less
day-glow maybe - to OO wood.

Red M has shiny, mitt-shaped leaves, sorta. Don't confuse it with White M
(heart-shaped leaves, whitish hairs on leaves).
