The other potential user of the leash (in my humble opinion) is the
casual still-water paddler who's busy grabbing a camera to catch a bird
photo or leaning out to pull in litter. Sort of a "cockpit awareness"
issue like those jet pilots who run out of gas while trying to fix a
burned out indicator lamp...
Your paddle doesn't have to float very far away before you're
paddle-less, even if you're not in a gale!
