Subject: [baidarka] Persimmon Varnish
GRG Worcester gives a recipe for Persimmon Varnish in his book "Junks and
Sampans of the Yangtse".
1. Crush unripe persimmons
2. put in container & cover with water
3. Cover container.
4. Wait one month.
5. Pour off goo.
6. Stuff remaining on bottom is varnish.
(I imagine the idea is to check every so often and add water as necessary).
So, having a persimmon tree nearby, I got a gallon of 'em and did the
masheroo. We'll see what happens.
