I'm not sure why I even post on this list as I seem to be invisble, but
I have spent some time with Maligiaq building a boat, but I don't know
as much about such things as others on this list.
I posted the last time, and Mark corrected my attempts at phoentic spelling.
I would say ma-lee-gee-aoch, the gee, a hard gee, as in geese, the aoch,
is somewhere between ack and och, and you got me, I'd have to hear it some more
Mark says it is "och", I think it is more of an German saying "ack" :-)
Mark's been around him more recently.
The last syllable is somewhat made in the back of the throat. Greenlandic
is very, very hard. Maligiaq, however, is quite the gentleman, and if you
get it close he is happy.
