The keel angle that I am refering to is the finished angle formed by the
hull and measured at the knee brace. If your ribs follow the angle of the
gunales and make as sharp of a bend as possible to go horizonally across the
keelson, you should have a good finished keel angle.
By the way, both of my baidarkas have a finished width of 20 1/2 inches.
I have had a lot of first time kayakers try both of my boats, and mine they
considered a little tippy and my wife's as very stable and user friendly.
