Started steam bending oak ribs this weekend and have a tip for any other
basement builders out there:
The drain valve on the hot water heater makes a great source for hot
water both to pour over your ribs prior to steaming and to refill your
steamer pot. Beats the hell out of going up and down the stairs sloshing
water over the kitchen floor that your wife just mopped!
