Hi Charles.

I thought I'd throw in what I know of Baltic birch as well. It is a
multi-laminate plywood, having 5 laminations in the 1/4", up to 13
laminations in 3/4".

The panels come in about 5 foot by 5 foot (not 65cm, unless at a specialty
store) sheets.

Beware! These panels are usually out of square! The largest discrepancy
I've had from one diagonal to the other is 1-1/4"!

I've used BB a lot for drawer bodies, as it's real pretty, and need not be
finished.

It can be pricey, and hard to find, so we found an American supplier of
"Apple Ply". That's what they called it, and it came in regular 4' by 8'
sheets (which are usually perfectly square). I can't remember if the
plywood laminations were actually apple wood or not.

Good luck!
