Verlene Kruger and his son had a catamaran "option" for their canoes
when they paddled around a lot of North America. I believe their system
wasn't much more complicated than a pair of cross members linking the
canoes.

It's an idea I'm very interested in as I've been planning to build a
small kayak for my son and use his kayak as an amas for my boat so
that he can come along and not have to paddle. When he does want to
paddle I could set him free for a while.
