Subject: baidarka stern waterline

I've seen here and there homemade baidarkas with screwy rearends. At the
waterline level in the stern where the last rib is the waterline is way too
wide and then there is this abrupt narrowing to the vertical sternbock. Very
bad flow line! On the kayaks in George Dyson's books and the plans he has
there is a sweet flow line here. It's narrow and fair at the waterline in
still water but up a little higher it flairs nicly in the unique way that
only baidarkas do to give amplified bouancy when the sea is up. Am I seeing
this right? Has anyone seen some of these misended craft?

Homemade Baidarkas? I guess they are all homemade, aren't they?

Cheers,Steve
