1) the angle between keel and low chine should be kept flattish: rise no
more than 1 1/4" from keel to chine over a 1' distance;

2) make width at low chine about 20 " and at sheer about 23, sheer from
keel 11"

3) put no seat, but just 1" high density foam to keep center of gravity
low.

4) give the kayak at least 3" rocker and place the seat 5 " aft of
center of buoyancy

5) kayak should be 14 ft. with short overhangs.

These 5 factors, combined with low center of gravity of your daughter
and - if needed - some temporary ballast, should provide a stable yet
lively boat. Also into her future.
