I have been building hulls based on the Atka boat, as taken by Zimmerly.
Would really like to see this hull you have. Be careful with Sitka spruce,
as it goes to pieces very quickly in fresh water. Salt water is good for
it, hardens it. Also, I would not hang it where it is very dry.

You really ought to paddle it occasionally... keeps it in good shape!

I am putting together a small museum display in Seward Alaska centered on a
replica of a Kodiak Island kayak. The replica was constructed in 1981 of
sitka spruce and Ceconite. Any internet resources or other info regarding
this design or the cultural info would be appreciated. And if anyone is in
town, stop by the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center. The 'yak is on
the wall!
