Thanks to all who offered suggestions regarding my "skin cutting query". The
method I derived has worked well I thought there might be interest in how I
ended up doing the cutting. So...

1) Put kayak in skin hammock keelson down.
2) Stapled along keelson ,to keep skin even on both sides for cutting and
sewing (this turned out to be more helpful than I knew- until I took the
staples out before finishing sewing the stern and had the seam wander enough
to cause problems with coverage of stern stem).
3) Inserted temporary ridge beam toward stern (with center line marked in
black permanent pen) and cut skin, repeated for bow area.
4) Turn on radio and begin sewing late into the night, repeat as necessary
