At my urging, Jim Heter has taken a roll of photos of his folding kayak,
without the skin.

I *almost* understand the design. I've begun my own boat, so maybe I'll
figure it out as I go along! The instructions don't seem to call for any
extraordinary wood or metal working skills, not even any bending.
As others have noted with non-folding kayaks, it's a most peculiar
feeling to look at a pile of 1" wood strips and realize that it's going
to become a boat!
