I've heard the same thing. I question this based on the 20.5" beam of
the Anas Acuta and the 22" beam of the PinTail. The decks certainly look
the same, the width difference bothers me, it's not just a "simple"
smoothing of the chines.

I've got a Pintail, it's a lovely boat to paddle, it turns nicely (nice
carved turns when put on edge) and is fairly oblivious to waves.
