Subject: baidarka deckbeams

hello there,

I'm new to this kayak building world. I'm trying to build the Aleutian
replica following Wolf Brinck's book. I'm progressing ok so far, but
today i began to read about the deckbeams and I now have a doubt. The
"descending " arm of the beams seems to be too shallow if I cut it
following the dimensions in the diagram. This especially noticeable when
compared with the photos in the book. Is this apparent difference just a
question of an optic "illusion"?. Is there any other way to measure the
angle?

Thanks,

Bill Cifuentes
