Julio, and all,
I took the lines off 5 of the "Old Kayaks in the Netherland" from Gert
Nooter's book of 1970. This should be a prime resource, but alas hasn't got
lines drawings. The drawings I've made are soon to be published as an
appendix to an upcoming book on kayaks-- last I heard anyways. If you are
familiar with Nooter's book. . . : I've surveyed the "Hoorn," the
"Hindeloopen" (and replicated it), the "DeRijp," the "Enkhuizen," and the
"Brielle" kayaks-- all likely from 17th Century West Greenland. They are
phenomenal kayaks and are quite different from the 19th Century Greenland
kayak types. I'll try to find out when the Appendix is to be published--
several of these drawings will figure in it as well as other kayaks in
museums (Ten total.) (P.S.--did I meet you at the Skin Boat fest @
Deception Pass this year?)
