Fraser, I went through the same thing with Raven. Now that I have gotten
really quite used to her, she is no problem at all. I think after all the
hard work you must have been through to finish the hull (and
congratulations!!!), she is worth fighting for.
Suggestion. Get some wine sacks (you can also use water bags or milk
bottles, but they are not so much fun in the acquisition stage) and fill
them with water. Plunk them into the hull behind your seat. I don't know
what size you are, but I am guessing that a bunch of ballast wouldn't hurt a
bit. I'd go for at least 50 lbs -- how much does a gallon of water weigh,
you guys?
I think once you get used to how she feels when she starts to go critical,
you will become more comfortable. Best of luck!!! And get a dry suit!!!!!
