Finally, a question that is right up my alley! The dumbest thing I've ever
done building a skin-boat-- and I'll venture to say it may be dumber than
many others' "dumbests", was to drill da** near all of my rib mortises on
the upper-edge of my gunwales. (Top that one, folks!) It was a kayak with
little sheer and hardly any flare to the gunwales. It didn't have arched
deck-beams and the curved cockpit deck-beam hadn't been placed yet, so any
genius coulda done it! (right?)
So. . . Tell us Wayne! Wha'd you do?

P.S. I did once get stuck head-first inside one of my kayaks. . . I also
stubbed my toe on a jack-plane, as well as stepped bare-foot on an adze
(OUCH!). All I can say to console myself is that this did not all happen on
the same day.
