I use flip flops or cheap sandals to cross the barnacle zone, may or may not
wear them entering the boat. Once in, I slip on a pair of DRY wool socks,
cozier than barefoot but not much different. reverse procedure to exit.
According to my house rules, the boat should be floating in a few inches of
water when I launch and de-bark (de-baidark?), whenever humanly possible.
