I go barefoot when it's warm enough and wear neoprene
booties I get at dive shops. For some reason, kayak
booties always have too much heel on them. But that
may have changed. Diver gear generally seems to be
warmer because it's made for total immersion. Also
booties are generally made to be worn with flippers so
they don't have outrageous heels.
