Ah, poor Farley. One of my favorite childhood authors. Yup, some of his
stuff is pretty suspect (Never Cry Wolf, and People of the Deer, for
example, the latter being one of my favorite books till I found out how
much of it was fudged). I've met a number of people (and even one supposed
biologist) who think wolves survive on mice instead of ungulates thanks to
NCW.

On the other hand I love the heck out of his Trilogy series, especially
Tundra, which includes his edited versions of various northern exploreres
diaries and such. Fascinating stuff.
